Mom's House

My mom & Merry live happily in central Connecticut in a cozy little condo with a spare bedroom for me to stay in when I'm home visiting. I love Mom & Mer -- they're great, and so great to me, especially to put up with my frustrations or whatever I've got on my shoulders when I come home for a reprieve from Washington.

Merry has two daughters -- Samantha and Elizabeth -- and they're great fun to play with when I'm home. I love giving them makeup to mess around with when I'm home 'cause it drives my mom crazy. It's also kinda funny to hang around with pre-teens again... especially 'cause I can listen to 'NSYNC with them and not feel guilty.

And Mom & Merry also have two pets that they adore, and that Mom insists are my siblings. I think she's crazy. Ellie the cat and Zoey the puppy really rule the house.

Mom's still close with her mom, my Nana, who lives near West Palm Beach, Florida, close to my aunts, uncles, and cousins that have all relocated down there. This picture, to the right, was from a long, long time ago... god, I couldn't have been more than 16, I think? Those are all of the grandkids on my mom's side, with my Nana and Poppy, who passed away when I was 17. I still get to see my Nana every few months... our visits to CT have intersected a few times in the past few years, which has been awesome. She tells me that I should be working hard to to get that damn Bush out of office... she's not a fan of the president so much. That's one of the many reasons I love her!

I'm pretty close with my Mom -- she's always there to listen to me, and to support me through any drama I'm going through at the moment. She always has good gossip to share, and makes an effort to include me in things even though I'm far from home. I appreciate her more than I can say. :) But she knows that.
